Located in Faridabad’s Pebble Downtown mall, the Le Marche store represents a reimagining of retail typology, transforming utilitarian grocery shopping into a curated environment. Despite its mall setting, the store presents a distinct high-street architectural aesthetic in its façade design, crucial for capturing visitor attention.
Featuring the prominently displayed Le Marche logo above the doorway, the store’s outdoor seating enhances its welcoming atmosphere, blurring the lines between shopping and leisure. The entrance also boasts a distinctive double-height façade with a tapered canopy and sleek metal and glass construction. The outdoor seating area creates an inviting space that enhances the store’s street presence.

Spanning 3,000 square feet, the store is strategically divided between the ground floor and mezzanine levels. This sectional strategy positions specialised programmes on the upper level, while the ground floor functions as the primary merchandising space. This spatial organisation optimises both circulation efficiency and experiential quality.
The ground floor includes a lightweight cheese counter, a fresh salad bar, and a comprehensive grocery area featuring a frozen gondola, an array of vegetables, and a specialised walk-around counter showcasing diverse and high-quality grocery products. Conversely, the mezzanine accommodates specialised departments including the bakery and butchery.

The interior design features a metal frame ceiling with suspended chandeliers that create striking lighting effects against smoke grey glass walls. Meanwhile, birch plywood rafters add organic warmth to the industrial elements, creating visual continuity throughout the space.
What sets this Le Marche store apart is its approach to design and adaptive reuse. Drawing inspiration from existing stores while maintaining its unique identity, the space incorporates elements from a previously closed store—repurposed ceiling elements, rafters, freezer units, and display racks. While this method lends the store a hint of familiarity, these elements are repurposed in ways that create a fresh aesthetic.
Through the sustainable choice of reusing elements to create an environment that engages multiple senses, the design of Le Marche crafts a premium space that elevates the grocery shopping experience.
